On Monday, Oct. 1, GWA conference attendees boarded buses for Nichols Hills, an upscale village surrounding Oklahoma City. We toured the Baird, Cooper, Griffin, Cash, and Bolen homes. (I missed the Keesee home.) Then we stopped at Kam’s house for lunch.

For reference, this is what this garden patch looked like earlier. The dudes who the property manager pays to mow lawns came by today and took up all the saplings I either couldn’t get to or didn’t have the tools for, cut back the ivy that was threatening life and limb and took care of this area.

I will admit to hovering a little, since I’ve put so much time into the garden myself. My rosebush was eyed by the guy of the team who knows plants best and he let it be. Hooray! I am not killing it and probably have chopped it back just enough.
