Microprocessor Controlled Charging for 6 and 12 Volt Batteries

Microprocessor controlled charging and maintenance is simply the easiest way to keep batteries at optimal power levels. This convenience and speed is experienced from the moment that the SEM-1562A is connected. First, the unit utilizes the user's choice of either easy-to-connect and remove battery clips, or permanent ring terminals (both included), each of which allows for charging or maintaining of batteries whether they be in or out of vehicles. The SEM-1562A also features automatic voltage detection which allows it to automatically determine whether the connected cell is a 6-volt battery or a 12-volt variety. This eliminates the possibility of damaging a battery due to choosing the wrong charging settings. Once your battery type has been identifified, a multi-phase charging process kicks in which plays out via the unit's automatic Charge / Maintain modes. Tipped off by the data analyzed by the onboard microprocessor, your battery is supplied with a constant charge until it reaches a preset level - at which point charging ceases. Eventually, if the charge falls below a certain level the SEM-1562A automatically transitions into Maintain Mode, delivering a small, safe charge that will raise the battery's level back to where it should be.

In addition, because of the constant monitoring the battery, the SEM-1562A can react to charging needs swiftly, efficiently and accurately, allowing charging cycles to click on and off in the same way. Because of this, batteries can be left attached to the SEM-1562A indefinately for storage without the risk of overcharging and/or damage. Additional features include: automatic temperature compensation which adjusts the maximum charge voltage and maximum maintain voltage based on the ambient air temperature; thermal runaway, which automatically reduces the current if it detects the battery may be getting too hot; an auto-start feature that keeps power from flowing unless a proper connection exists, or in the case of a reverse hook-up; and a Desulphation mode for charging batteries left discharged for an extended period of time.

The Chomp & Clack Alligator Push Toy encourages exploration and discovery with a playful, brightly colored swamp scene. Three green gators in a blue pool are the centerpieces of the toy, and each of the four wheels features a multicolored fish that appears to be swimming as the wheels turn.

A wooden handle extends from the back of the base and includes colorful details of cattails and butterflies on its supports. Butterfly and ladybug beads attached to the supports are fun for little hands to slide and spin.

Designed to Encourage Movement and Discovery

The toy's design helps teach motor skills as well as basic cause and effect. With each step your child takes, the alligators take turns opening and closing their mouths with a gentle clacking noise. The alligators' noise and animation encourages movement and development of gross motor skills, while spinnable, slidable beads on the handle supports help improve fine motor skills.

In addition, the toy promotes agility, balance, and exercise. The handle is simple to grab and hold, so your little one can steer the push toy in straight lines or along wandering paths. The Chomp & Clack Alligator Push Toy is handcrafted and hand sanded from select hardwood and made with nontoxic dyes and paints. Measuring 15 by 11-3/4 by 15 inches (H x W x D), the toy is wide and weighty enough to give wobbly babies the support they need to fearlessly take their first steps. Tiny hands can easily grasp the raised handlebar. The push toy requires adult assembly, which is simple to do with only a Phillips-head screwdriver.

While our testers were pleased by the overall construction of the toy, they did note that the three cutouts in which the alligators move are a little rough at the edges. This was not an issue during testing, but parents should keep an eye out for possible splinters.

Noise Canceling Technology

Noise canceling headphones reduce ambient noise to provide a quieter environment for audio entertainment. The headphones have an inside microphone on each earpiece that works with electronic circuitry to create oppositely phased sound waves that reduce, or phase out, the ambient noise sound waves.

The MDR-NC7 reduce up to 87.4% (9 dB at 300 Hz) of ambient noise when the noise canceling circuit is switched on, ideal for loud, noisy environments like planes, buses, dorms, etc.
