Digital Labs 7″ LCD Portable TV Review

Review of the 7″ LCD Portable TV from Digital Labs. This is a Portable digital ready TV that I bought at KOHL’s for .99 (A STEAL, Retail 9.99,said on box). I bought this along with the megaphone and Shift3 USB Video Camera. Here in this video I have my PS2 hooked to this TV b/c of the crappy reception in my area and the copyright rules on YouTube so I’m playing some GTA Vice City Stories on PS2. The Dimensions are 16:9 Aspect Ratio and the resolution is 480X300 something I cant remember Exactly. it has a built in rechargeable battery and plays for about 2.5 hours on a charge but you can use it forever on the car charger or the AC adaptor. it came with Earbuds as well as an A/V cable. you will need a 3 RCA to RCA type coupler seen here. www.radioshack.com You will need this coupler to hook your game console’s AV cables to this TV. I can hook this little TV directly up to my QAM digital cable and it will tune all the channels I get on my regular TV just the numbers are a lil weird but it will do for power outages. We got the missing Gargoyles and Bad Guys (Gagoyles spinoff) comic books from Carolyn’s wishlist. Finally we have all the Gargoyles stuff we were missing!

Carolyn got Clint Deathklok stickers, gloves, and pins.

The fudge (in the metal box) was delicious; even Clint liked it, and he generally isn’t crazy aobut fudge. And the fruit was good too. Carolyn ate the apples and oranges with her lunches, and Clint regretted only getting one of the green apples.

The bra book is interesting, and I think we thumbed through it at the Sex Museum in NYC.

That portable bowl is going to be VERY handy for Carolyn when we go camping! It has already been assimilated into Carolyn’s camping backpack, so she won’t have any chance of forgetting it.

The novelty brain/tongue/roach/poo were put on our food during Clint’s birthday party, during which someone moved the fake poo to the top of the toilet, where it now remains.

20101229 – Christmas gifts – Tim & Eric, mini martinis, candy, books, shirts, gift cards, Transformers ornaments – IMG_2550

The gummy face was very creepy. It actually felt like you were eating a face. Everything was contoured pretty perfectly. The plastic it laid on top of was skull shaped, which affected how it felt a bit. We ate the eyes out first, and then simulated our simulation of the cheek-pulling-off scene from Ichi The killer (Carolyn’s cheek was sore for days).

We got some gift cards that we’re going to use for our birthdays and anniversary.

The multi-tool actually came in use for something minor when we were installing the attic ladder.

The mini martinis were delicious — except pomegranate was kind of foul. They made for a fun night.

We used the Spider-Man napkins and plates during Clint’s birthday party.

Getting the DVD of the next Tim & Eric season is quite awesome, as we usually haven’t seen their DVD extra, which are often Grade A hilarity.

And the 3 restaurant gift cards will be used, as usual, for Clint’s birthday, our anniversary/Valentine’s day (10th/14th), and Carolyn’s birthday.

The glow in the dark stars will be added to our galaxy in our bedroom… Maybe we’ll put some in the kitchen too?

Digital Labs 7″ digital portable TV review

Quick review on the digital labs model #DT191SA portable digital television. Digital labs has done a great job designing this TV to give you as close to a full sized TV experience as possible. The picture quality is great and the sound quality is almost equal to a full sized televisions. It has easy to use accessories and controls, which can be operated by almost anyone in any age group. It features the new ATSC digital tuner, for high def content over the air, as well as a NTSC tuner for any analog signals that happen to be lingering around. Users can also play their own content via the included av cable in adapter. As far as battery life goes, its about average at two and a half hours, which is still an improvement over the four AA hand held televisions. The whole device is under one pound and can easily fit in a laptop bag or standard portable DVD player carrying case. It can be used for video games and movies when on the move, and tv broadcasts when stationary (thanks to the signal strength of the ATSC signal). The digital labs portable TV is also a great emergency item, since it has a built in lithium polymer battery and has the ability to be run and charged from a 12 volt source. This tv is available at a variety of online retailers, I strongly suggest using google shopping to find the best possible price. I will have a long term review later on and will also try to run it completely off of solar power. Check back later for more updates.
