I have (did have) a 3 year old Toshiba laptop, it costed somewhere over $ 1000. How much would it cost to get another Toshiba thats just as good? Would it cost the same as the one I had? Or have the prices of laptops gone down since I bought it?

I got the laptop with Vista and put XP on it a few weeks ago. The scrolling does not work now. I have tried the XP and Vista drivers from Dell and Synaptics, and whenever I try to change any of the settings, nothing happens; I click on it and get no response. Any ideas?

I have recently purchased a Satellite toshiba laptop, only a couple of months ago, and the CD drive is suddenly refusing to work.
Whenever I insert a CD the computer loads for a second, then the CD drive makes a strange sort of jamming noise, and it acts as though nothing is there.
How can I fix this?

I foolishly cracked the screen on my Toshiba laptop but fortunately I could still see 1/4 of the screen. I was able to set up an external monitor and I switch over to use that monitor exclusively by using the right click menu on the Windows desktop. I just moved to a new house and disconnected the monitor from the laptop. When I turn on the laptop I find that the screen is now completely unreadable and it won’t switch over to the monitor. Is there a keyboard shortcut I can use to switch over to the monitor? I tried Fn + F5 but it didn’t work.

I bought a Toshiba A215 series laptop 13 days ago, and the screen goes black every now and then and I have to manually restart the laptop to get it back up and running. I tried returning it to Best Buy today and they want to charge me a 15% restocking fee, because they supposedly can’t duplicate the problem. They say they will run some tests on it today and I can pick it up tomorrow -I’d like to go back tomorrow with some evidence.. to return it and not pay a restocking fee. please help!
